an independent studio · Hardware Lane
Hair that grows out as gracefully as it goes on.
I'm Sunny — an independent hairstylist on Hardware Lane in Melbourne CBD. I cut and colour with proportion and patience. Most of my clients come for live-in dimensional colour, grey blending and a thoughtful haircut — and they come back two or three times a year, not every six weeks.

what I do
Two things, properly. Cuts and grey.
Most colourists try to cover grey. I design it to grow out subtly. Many cuts look good for two weeks; mine should still feel like a haircut at eight. It should look good today, and look like itself as it grows. That's it. That's the whole pitch.

why I do this
“Years ago I asked for a long haircut and the stylist just cut it short. I felt invisible. So now I listen first.”

What clients tend to say
Best haircut I've ever received. The attention to detail was incredible — she really took the time to find the perfect style for me.
Sunny blended my grey so naturally that it just looks like my hair, only better. No harsh line, no panic between visits.
Years ago a stylist just cut it all off. Sunny actually listened first, then cut. I finally feel like myself.
